Before the fight: The cameras turn on at this special JMD on ESPN+ bout with both fighters in the ring, bouncing on their shows. Juno is in all black while Paige is in all white, with Hannah Waddingham in Juno’s corner and Stephanie McMahon in Paige’s corner. This fight was set up last month, when Paige and Juno were seconds and got into a brawl after Stephanie knocked out Hannah in the latter’s JMDD debut.
Both fighters reluctantly touch gloves in the middle, and this twelve-round JMD bout is on!
Round 1: To start the fight, Paige came out aggressively and established her dominance over Juno. She used her powerful jab and straight right to set up her hooks and uppercuts to her breasts, landing them with precision and force. She backed Juno up against the ropes and unleashed a barrage of punches, rocking her head and breasts back and forth. Juno tried to cover up and fire back, but she was overwhelmed by Paige’s speed and power. The bell rang just in time to save Juno from further punishment, but she looked hurt and bruised as she walked back to her corner and Hannah. Paige is up on the scorecards 10-8 after this round.
Round 2: The second round was more competitive, as Juno showed her heart and determination. She came out swinging and met Sprianac in the center of the ring. Juno matched Paige’s punches with her own, trading blow for blow in close quarters. The two boxers fought on a phonebooth with neither one giving an inch. Juno landed some solid shots to Paige’s body and head, rattling Paige and making her feel her presence. The round was close, but Juno edged it on points with her activity and aggression, still down 18-19.
Round 3: The third round was similar to the second, but Paige regained the upper hand and outworked Juno in the phonebooth. She refused to back down from Juno’s challenge and fired back with more accuracy and power. She landed some sharp jabs and right crosses that snapped Juno’s head back. She also mixed in some hooks and uppercuts that split Juno’s guard and cut her left cheek. Both fighters were bloody after this round, with Paige having a cut on her left cheek as well and Juno’s right eye swollen and barely open. Paige won this round, up 29-26.
Round 4: The fourth round was the most dramatic so far, as Juno scored a knockdown in the first minute that changed the momentum of the fight. She stepped on Paige’s right foot as they were exchanging punches and threw a right hook that hit Paige’s cut spot-on. Juno’s punch devastates Paige and turned Paige’s lights out and sent her crashing to the canvas. Paige was on all fours, shaking her head to clear the cobwebs. She managed to get up at two, but she was still dazed and wobbly. Temple saw her opportunity and jumped on her with an inferno of energy. She backed Paige up against the corner and unleashed a flurry of punches looking for a knockout. Paige was in trouble, but she showed her grit and survival instincts. She clinched Juno whenever she could and held on for dear life. Paige survived the round by the skin of her teeth, barely on her feet as the bell rang. Although Juno is still down in the scorecards, at 36 points compared to her opponent’s 37, this could be a turning point in the bout.
Round 5: Early in this round, Paige’s sheer power got to Juno, who wilted under pressure. Paige recovered from the knockdown and came out with renewed vigor. She knew she had to finish Juno off before she could recover or land another lucky punch. She went after Juno with a vengeance, throwing hard punches with bad intentions. She caught Juno with a hard left uppercut that stunned her in her tracks. She followed it up with a right cross that landed flush on Juno’s chin. The punch was too much for her to handle, as it knocked her off balance and sent her down on her back. Juno tried to get up, but she was too hurt and exhausted. She stumbled back down at seven, unable to beat the count.
Paige Spiranac wins by knockout in the 5th round!
After the fight: Paige wastes no time after the bell rings and swarms Juno physically, backing her up in a neutral corner and smothering her out with her elite jugs. “Do you see this, Vivian? This is what’s waiting for you this month!” She says as Juno drifts off to dreamland, winking to the corner. Compared to the last outing, the corners are calm. Hannah is distraught at seeing her friend looking so weak and yet knowing that right now, Carnations dominate the Ted Lasso duo. Stephanie looks on with a smug smile, proud of her young charge preening and showing her dominance.
