A catfight is often a frantic, desperate affair at first. The cats therein striking and grabbing — pulling and prying without cessation or pause.
But as it wears on, mutual offense may cease, as the battle becomes one set to a pendulum. On one blade resting weakness and inaction, and on the other opportunity and aggression.
One woman freezing in agony as the other punishes her. One screaming in pain in an effort to endure as the other bites down with her teeth.
It is only then, when punishment comes in turns, that the commitment each rival has can be seen.
Each having the chance to run when they are in control, though instead they choose to stay.
Their conflict being paramount. The chance at the other’s destruction convincing them to stay.
